where does the love go?

I guess this question has been posed in many songs and writings and is thought about over and over by many broken hearted souls. Where does the love go?  Two fluttering hearts saying " I do " hoping to spend their lives together fullfilling many dreams they longed to aspire.  The years tumble by like a snowball rolling down the mountain. Time creates a separation between them. The lovers have lost a connection. Individuals alone. Their children have grown and are living their own lives. What happened to ours?  We try to reconnect, usually too late.  Was the marriage meant to prevent this lost connection?  Are we forgetting why we really came together..to love each other..to learn to keep communicating and growing together???  We have to try harder to keep this connection.  Time takes over.... then you ask "where does the love go? "

Who would ever expect to see snow on Halloween?  Who would ever want to see snow on her pumpkin on Halloween? Not me!!!!!  Don't have much control over this matter, do I?  Shovels and boots came out to play! The snow was heavy and wet. Not much ado was met..the sun would melt the stuff away! I  spent the evening watching Hocus Pocus on my comfy chair looking at my lit up indoor pumpkins! The power fought to stay on throughout the evening...my candle was burning just in case! Oh well..mother nature played another trick....just have to pick up our mushy pumpkins!  Not such a treat!

Back on My Bike Again!

It was great getting on my bike again!  Rails to trails was looking great since the aftermath of Irene. Getting into Gretna was blocked by a fallen tree, though!  So I biked into Lebanon.  The knees were pedalling without pain! I was in the zone! I just can't believe these people on their super geared bikes!  What kind of workout are they getting without pedalling?  HA! They just soar past! Maybe I'm crazy...or just too cheap to buy a better bike?  The worst part of the ride is  getting off the bike!  HA! I don't think super gears are gonna fix the soreness in my bottom! I have a special seat and wear padded bike shorts!  Getting the bike back on the rack takes a little effort , too!  Whew!  Oh well...it's all worth it!  I had a great sleep last night! I can't wait to ride again!  After a little rest!

It's another yard sale!

    It's summer....and that means yard sale times!  What turns people on about yard sales?  I finally was involved in my community's yard sale earlier this month.  Vans, trucks, and carloads browsing through looking for some bargain! Lots of kiddies' clothes, rundown furniture, kithen items, lots of christmas decorations , including sparkly trees and bulbs , old books, jewelry...you name it!  It's amazing to see hoards of people looking at your unwanted stuff!  It was also interesting to see how items were displayed - in some way that would entice your wonderous gaze!  Some folks even had hotdogs and kraut!  We all know what happens then!  Sometimes you can't pass up a hotdog!  Real savvy!  Maybe..someone will buy a whole boxload of stuff then! Ha!  I actually felt somewhat emotional when over hearing how this certain person may like this picture and where she would hang it!  Someone will be happy with my used stuff!  Maybe this is why they go to yard sales.. to find some thing that will make the buyer or the receiver of a " rare" treasure  happy?  That day I made $6.00!  I didn't care about the money. I was satisfied that someone was happier with my used stuff!  So...keep on going to those yard sales!  Make somebody happy and make a few bucks. too!

Well...another yearly report at my nurse practitioner's....the cholesterol level is higher!.and I have not lost 1 oz on that blasted scale! Why doesn't watching what I eat and exercise help????   My knees are clicking and there's some fluid hanging out around the cap....Now I have to double my statin dose and swallow pain pills!  Gee....I"m not 60 yet!!!  Work a little harder???  I'll have to start swimming and taking water aerobics with bubbas!  Be nicer to my knees...still have to work! AHHH...getting older isn't easy..just have to have the right perspective! Read that somewhere! I still think it sucks!  At least my other labs were good and my bones are still strong...I can still dance all night~!  I can still ride a few miles on my bike  and take a long hike!  I'm not giving in!  Guess I'm in for the fight!  Look out here I come!

My friend has cancer

Sadness has brought me down today.   My firend has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer.  This monster won't stop hurting us!  Is there some fearless slayer out there?  We can only hope a cure will soon be found and the sooner the better!  I know she will need chemo and surgery.  She will face many weeks of side effects from the treatments.  I pray she will have the strength to endure these effects and battle this monster!  Prayers are always appreciated!  Get well, my friend!

Winter days can be great for reading and watching the fire dance around the logs, keeping warm in your favorite snugglies, drinking hot chocolate and wearing a dent in the couch..whatever the pleasures! We don't want to dwell on the shovelling, muscle aches, terror of sliding on ice....It's almost February! The groundhog won't see his shadow we already know that! But we do know Valentine's Day brings us candy so we can get fat! HA! Try to stay positive and we'll make it through these cold winter days!

sweat pouring down my cheeks and pushing a load of chunky ice doesn't make me happy...but I keep smiling! The adrenaline was flowing..so I walked and ran around the neighborhood circle! Where did this energy come from? I'll be sharp as a whistle for trivia tonite! The kids are getting off the school bus and are whispering and chuckling as I run by...maybe because I'm an inspiration?....nah...Just a sweaty crazy adult lookin so not cool! HA! Everybody shovel then take a nice hot shower!

Enough already with the weakness and malaise I'm ready to return to the living! Gee...if I drink another cup of green tea ... I"m ready for a glass of merlot!  My spine has been misalligned from couching - I'll need to be stretched out majorly or hung upside down!  I went for my walk today despite the rawness in temperature .It felt great! All that pentup energy was released walking briskly around my neighborhood!  My brain cells have been recharged...ready for trivia!  The snow's coming down... the  worst is expected after nine pm so... the game should be on!  The shovelers will be out in the morning and the new day will begin!  Drive careful everybody and enjoy the day and be happy!
