   Where did Christmas go?  All the family went back to the Burg and now it's me and Romeo.  The holiday reminders only remain - the extra belly bulge now stays!  Romeo gets to play with his new toy - until he chews all the feathers  that float all over the house - oh boy!  The  christmas tree keeps me company and helps make the chilly days a little warmer! The festivities of the season will continue and we will welcome the new year. Holiday Party at The Inn 422

     Twas a great evening of friends sharing tales and fine dining lotsof laughing and hugging . The holiday spirit was celebrated by all. We enjoyed sitting in the comfort of the warm fireplace watching eight little candle flames dance from the  Mennorah that was lit . The presents were exchanged after the annual holiday game and a toast was offered to thank Pat for helping all of this happen. The years go by and alot of things we take for granted. Too many things are just forgotten.  But the memories we have of being together will live on and will inspire us to continue this connection at the Inn 422!  Have a great holiday season everyone!

Are We Ready For Turkey?

Why are we drooling over the thought of those dinner table delights   ????   Is it the stuffing, the gravy, the pumpkin pie?  The warm familiar aroma seeping into your nostrils thrills those tastebuds!  We're tired of watching football!  The snack bowls are empty and it's soon time!  The table is set in holiday style.  At last the family sits down and all eyes gaze at the turkey platter.  AHHH.. Now someone asks why we are thankful?  Before your fork is lifted think about it.  Then dig in!  Enjoy Thanksgiving!

What a wonderful day!  My sister and I spent quality girl time!  We walked the neighborhood and breathed in the fresh air until the knees were sore and the sweat started trickling down the brow!  Time for a cold one!  Ice water hit the spot!  After sitting and cooling off it was time to find our dinner destination.  After travelng a good 20 miles through some scenic towns our tummies were hungry and there was no such destination any longer!  The Indian restaurant was now a sports bar!  HA!  Our palletts wre disappointed!  As we all know there are no shortages of eateries and lo and behold we discovered Snuzzles!  The chocolate frozen drinks were delicious!  We also ordered  The popular sandwiches which were also tasty!  It was a great find!  Our tummies were full!  The sunset was beautiful on the drive home.  What a perfect ending for an almost perfect day!  Thanks sis!

   Is it better to   waken in darkness or try to stay awake when blackness surrounds you and you don't want to be a couch potato after 4:00PM? And how about saving on fuel when we have to use more energy to see and to stay warm when the sun shines on us less? I don't understand where the logic comes from? Have we all gone batty? Then there is the SADD Syndrome...it's hard to be happy when we're freezing in the dark!

Roaming around the Reading area we happened upon this Chinese Pagoda!  Why would anyone build such a

wonderous edifice in the heart of a once booming industrial area? Anyhow...it makes for a great place to take pics and you do get a beautiful view of Reading.  Spending time with my mom and dad was splendid!  I guess you could compare the experiences- they were both unforgettable!  I am so greatful to be able to share such findings with my parents and that they can still navigate alongside me! Aren't they a great looking couple?   Hey dad....I got you to smile!  We had a great time!

Hey you bullies.....you know who you are!  Shame on you! Get a life!  What right do you have to badger or defame!  Haven't you ever learned not to call names?  Haven't you ever experienced a few rocky times...like having to wear glasses in 3rd grade...or having zits when your're only 9?  Haven't you ever felt different at one time of your life?  Maybe you were lucky.  By the time you're in college you should realize the differences your peers have and embrace them!  We all have our weaknesses. Whatever happened to " make love, not war?"  Tolerance has to be taught.  Parents are suffering their loss.  How would you feel if the only way to be happy would be to jump off a bridge?   I can't be happy today.

Tranquil Times in The Wildwoods

  Although the official end of summer has come,  we seek the comfort of the sandy beaches and warm ocean breezes as long as mother nature allows.  Basking in bathing suits was still possible along with sunscreen and shades.  What a way to spend the day!  Toes mashing in the soft sand and splashing along the ocean's edge  while taking a leisure walk were amazing!  Being at the ocean stirs memories of days gone by.  Those happy times spent with children and friends. Time passes like the rolling waves. Take the time to breathe it in!  Enjoy the beach!

A Day of Atonement

Watching the stained glass windows getting darker and darker,  listening to the solemn constant drone of prayer, the congregants reading from their prayer books some with their faces against the pages with backs bent and their bodies rocking to the rhythm of the melody.  Our bellies remind us we have been fasting over 24 hours and counting..our legs are tired from standing erect while the holy ark is opened...it is time to ask God to forgive us, to accept our hummanness, to let us live another year, cleaner in spirit and purer in heart.  You can feel the pulse within the synagogue walls!  All of us asking for the same thing, not only for ourselves but for the whole world!  That's alot of pressure!  The last prayers are said.  Exhaustion overcomes you.  Then the shofar blasts!  The breaking of the fast...gobbling everything in sight!  WHEW!  Made it through another Yom Kippur night!   May your year be filled with joy and celebrate many happy occasions!

Watching the stained glass windows getting darker and darker, the constant solemn drone of prayer, the congregants reading in their prayer books, their bodies bent over and rocking with the melody,  our bellies growling from fasting 26 hours and counting...it's time to ask God for his forgiveness, to accept our hummanness...to spare us and let us live another year.  You can feel the pulse of everyone in the synagogue asking for the same thing.  Not only are we asking forgiveness for ourselves but for all the people in the world!  Gee....that's a whole lot of pressure!  The legs are tired from standing when the holy ark is opened...over 30 minutes now....then the shofar was blown!  Songs of celebration!  Exhaustion.  Breaking fast..gobbling down everything in sight! whew!  Made it through another Yom Kippur night!  May everyone's year be filled with joy and happy occasions!

Could we have a better day than today?  I managed to rise before midday a little stiff in the hips from my bike outing yesterday hoping to get a few things accomplished before lunch.  A  trip to the garden center to buy some mums was first on the day's agenda.  I took them home and played in the potting soil and made a pretty arrangement.  We just have to have our mums for autumn!  It's " a good thing " and your world will be a little brighter for it!  This made me happy!  Then after lunch I had enough energy to take a walk and stretch out those stiff  areas and enjoyed the afternoon sunshine.     I really dig those endorphines!

Happy NewYear!

Happy 5771 !  We humans have been around a long time!  Made it through lots of plagues and wars and asteroids , cold spells, hot spells, wet spells and such.  Obviously,  there are blue skies, sunny days, bountiful harvests, medicinal cures, technological wonders, kissing in the moonlight, making babies...so many joyous times!  Let's practice being kind to each other and work together to enlighten our days  spent here on our glorious planet!  We still have lots of living to do!  A little bit of happiness goes a long way.  I asked god to forgive me for all my evil doings in 2010 and to let me start again as a better person in 2011.  So I called my folks and wished them a happy new year. This is a start!   I also potted a few mums to color my world and  this will help keep me smiling!  I'm ready to enjoy another year!

Got me a new hairdo!  Do a lttle dance.. Get the picture?  Now I'm ready to hit the night life...gonna have to do that tomorrow!  Already spent energy at trivia.  Can't do too much in one night! HA!  Iced coffee can only do so much for brain power and the legs would need a little booster fuel. So...have to relax in my house, play with romeo.  That dancer's making me sleepy!  I had a great day! 

Positively redirected

Whew!  Yesterday I experienced sadness and gloom despite the beautful sunny day!  That ugly black cloud  went on its merry way luckily.  My friends and family gathered around me and helped regain my strength.  Whew!  Somehow I had the energy to run and sweat out the nasty toxins festering in my pores!  The cleansing of the soul led to a good night's sleep and a positve will to meet life's challenges with a big smile!  This is good!

What a beautiful fall feeling day!  Threw the bike on the rack and off I went to the trail!  There weren't any deterents..have 2  inflated tires!  Got the new pants on...ready to handle the bumps!  There was a great breeze goin..the sweat dried faster and kept me cooler!  How does one smoke a pipe and ride a bike?  why?????  Guess everyone enjoys the outdoors there own way!  I prefer smelling mother nature's odors.  Just when the pipe scent left, the horses walked by and left their own  smells and a few fresh piles of dodo!  What would be nicer than having dodo on the tires and having to put the bike back on the rack with that stuff all over them!  I'm trying to be happy!  I bet some one's foot gets into that!  Ha!  Guess the horses have to have somewhere to walk,too?  I had a great ride!

Retirement celebration!

What is retirement?  A time for growing older and wiser?  A time to finally come to terms with who we are and finally enjoying being there?  A passage ..perhaps a journey...?  We don't know our destinies.  But we can surely try to have fun along the way!  At least looking at the bright side helps give us courage. Being with friends and those we share our lives with can brighten the path.  We celebrated  a retirement today for a coworker.  It felt a little like the divine sisterhood!  We have shared many hours together as coworkers, some frustrating, some sad,  all working for the same causes..patient satisfacton and income!  There were always happy moments along the way.   We had holiday parties and employee banquits. But the most memorable times were job oriented- as friends- sometimes being silly and sometimes just being supportive.  What I'm trying to get at is..no matter what we do or where we go...friends guide us down the road.  Congratulations on being retired Marian!!!

I finally made it to Cornwall to take on the trail.  It was a  hard ride getting there! While getting my bike out of the garage I noticed the rear tire totally FLAT!  That was not a good thing!  So...I threw it on the bike rack ( I wish) ! Why is it so hard for me to lift the bike onto the rack?  Am I that weak? Anyhow, after a few choice cuss words the bike was on the rack and I drove out to the schwin repair in Cleona.  Of course, I had to drop it off and pick it up in a couple hours.  BUT I WANT IT NOW!  Ok Deb, calm down.  Off to Petsmart for Romeo. I picked up some food, gravel ..things you must have for cats.. and a few new toys....my mania was taking control! I needed to ride!  Then off to Walmart for people needs.  I sped home to unload everything and ate some lunch then my cell rang! Yai!  Back out to Cleona for the bike with the new tire! And I bought a pair of those swanky padded bike shorts.  I thought I deserved a treat for this running around.  Ahhhh...finally got my tosh onto the bike and pedaled into Lebanon!  I went up to Gretna then back into Lebanon. My seat was very appreciative of the new pants! It was a great ride! Well worth the running and waiting.  This was a happy day for me and my kittie.  He liked his new toys and is sitting on the window perch seat I bought him so he can keep me company while I'm on the computer!  What a guy!  I'm smiling!

Pier 1 fun!

Shazam! I was entrenched with colors! NO ONE can say there is a lack of artistic flavor in this store! When you're feeling sad and lonely you should always go..to Pier 1..maybe Petula Clark needed to shop here! Ha! Maybe there weren't any around at that time!!!! Woolworth's or Greene"s were more the chic then! Anyhow...I found what I was looking for, and didn't spend a fortune! I was happy! You can't only go there once..since I opened an account! I can't wait to get more color in my life!

Sweaty times are here again!

I find it really hard to stay positve when water is streaming down my face trying to vacuum the Jetta so I can drive comfortably without having an allergy attack from all the flying dust particles on my seat and dashbord! wheh! That was a long sentence! I'm not the grammar champ as you can see? Does it matter? This is my happy page and I can write however I want! I cannot sweat all the little things in life! I will totally dehydrate! My car is clean and this makes me happy!

Happiness is just an illusion would be more like it!  This is my happy page....rain rain go away come again some other day!  My daughter and I are trying to plan a hot air balloon ride complete with champagne! Shooting for the beginning of October.  Would like to view the beautiful autumn foilage of lancaster county. Let it rain all it wants now!  I hope mother nature cooperates and this trip comes true!  This plan makes me happy!

What a great time spent in Ocean City,MD. !  Reminiscing with cousins who allowed my sister and I to stay in their condo.  The weather was perfect and water was refreshing. The waves were manageable for me to enjoy the briny buoyancy!  I am not the best body surfer and I hate getting sand in every crack of my self!  It always feels so good walking the beach.  Many memories surface...good mainly!  Afterall , this is my happy page and I don't want to think of the bad feelings.  Food., family, many great feelings!  That's what makes a great vacation!  These good times creat my happy pages!
