where does the love go?

I guess this question has been posed in many songs and writings and is thought about over and over by many broken hearted souls. Where does the love go?  Two fluttering hearts saying " I do " hoping to spend their lives together fullfilling many dreams they longed to aspire.  The years tumble by like a snowball rolling down the mountain. Time creates a separation between them. The lovers have lost a connection. Individuals alone. Their children have grown and are living their own lives. What happened to ours?  We try to reconnect, usually too late.  Was the marriage meant to prevent this lost connection?  Are we forgetting why we really came together..to love each other..to learn to keep communicating and growing together???  We have to try harder to keep this connection.  Time takes over.... then you ask "where does the love go? "
